BO&MIE x Stranger Things: a Black Forest from Hawkins

For season 5 of Stranger Things, BO&MIE dreams up a Christmas creation inspired by the Hawkins forest. AD Magazine selects it among its 40 favourite Yule logs of 2025.

The BO&MIE “Stranger Things Edition” Yule log, a dark three-tiered fir tree topped with a Demogorgon flower

Season 5 of Stranger Things was released on Netflix between 27 November 2025 and 1 January 2026. To go with it, BO&MIE produced a Yule log named “Stranger Things Edition”. AD Magazine included it in its 2025 ranking of pastry chefs’ creations, published on 13 November.

Mirkwood, literally

The starting point fits in one word. The forest on the edge of Hawkins is called Mirkwood, which translates as black forest. So the log takes the form of a giant, dark fir tree, and borrows the flavours of the German cake of the same name. The pun becomes the recipe.

The recipe

Vanilla stracciatella mousse, dark chocolate shavings, amarena cherry confit lightly laced with Kirsch, chocolate crémeux and a soft dark chocolate sponge: the construction is that of a Black Forest, reinterpreted as a tiered assembly.

The creation was tied to the Stranger Things pop-up at Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées, where BO&MIE runs a counter, until 5 January 2026. The other seasonal pieces can be found among our creations.
