BO&MIE

Our story

Two paths. One idea

Two paths, neither of them headed for a bakery. She was a lawyer at the Paris public hospitals; he had just sold the company he founded. In 2015, each decided to start over from scratch — and the two stories crossed at Ferrandi.

Magali Szekula and Jean-François Bandet, the two founders of BO&MIE

Magali Szekula

COO

A lawyer at the Paris public hospitals, in 2015 she decided to change her life — and her trade.

After Ferrandi and several Parisian houses, including La Grande Épicerie, she developed the bread range of the first BO&MIE.

Jean-François Bandet

CEO

Entrepreneur and founder of Venum, he went looking for a new playing field after selling the company.

He chose gastronomy, and he too went through Ferrandi — in bakery.

Our story

2017

It all begins at Turbigo

The first BO&MIE bakery opens at 18 rue de Turbigo, Paris.

From day one, everything is made in-house. The Raspberry Croissant and the Flan are already part of the adventure. They are still here today.

2020

Thinking bigger

In the middle of the Covid crisis, BO&MIE nonetheless launches the biggest project of its young history: 91 rue de Rivoli, facing the Louvre.

This extraordinary address marks a turning point. BO&MIE is no longer just a neighbourhood bakery: the brand states a new ambition.

2021–2022

Paris is not enough

2021. BO&MIE crosses the French border for the first time, with an opening in Spain.

2022. The BO&MIE book is published by Flammarion. The same year, the New York Roll becomes one of the house’s emblematic creations, before growing into a phenomenon well beyond Paris.

2023–2024

Changing scale. Not our craft

BO&MIE builds, then opens in Clichy a 2,000 m² laboratory — one of the largest dedicated to artisan baking in Paris.

A new tool to produce more, create more and support growth without giving up on made in-house.

At the same time, BO&MIE opens in Saudi Arabia, takes its first steps in travel retail with SSP in Aix-en-Provence, and develops its first corporate spaces with Sodexo.

2025

Recognition

BO&MIE opens its first address in Asia, at Shinsegae in Gangnam, Seoul, and keeps expanding internationally.

At Christmas, BO&MIE partners with Netflix around Stranger Things at Galeries Lafayette.

Accelerating

Kuwait. Riyadh. Two new addresses in Jeddah.

BO&MIE also accelerates in travel retail with two new openings alongside SSP, while the partnership with Sodexo keeps growing.

The same year, the house wins the Grand Prix de la Pâtisserie de la Ville de Paris 2026. The brand now grows across several formats, several markets and several continents.

Today

And this is only the beginning

Paris, Europe, the Middle East, Asia. Growing without industrialising our craft. Creating in Paris. Producing every day. And taking BO&MIE ever further.

We changed scale. Not who we are
